Objectives of the Association : |
|
1.
The name of the Association is the Indian Water Works
Association |
|
2.
The Head Office and Registered office of the Association will be
situated in Mumbai City. |
|
3.
a) The objects for which the Association is established are - |
|
i)
To acquire, promote and advance knowledge, skills and expertise,
in planning, design, construction, supervision, training,
operation, maintenances and management of water resources, water and waste water engineering and
systems, treatment and rules and in related disciplines and
sciences.
ii) For the purpose of achieving the above ,the
Association on satisfaction of required criteria may open
centers anywhere in India and abroad.

b)
To serve as a centre for acquisition and promotion of objects
mentioned in (a) (i) above and decimination of knowledge by
means of meetings, seminars, symposia, workshops, conferences,
film shows, and through electronic media, lectures, tours,
publications etc.
To conduct courses and examinations leading to certificates and/or
diplomas in water and wastewater engineering /technology and get
recognition from concerned authorities.

c)
To represent the views and interests of the sector and the
profession before various committees that may be appointed by
Govt. Semi Govt., Local Authorities, Professional bodies etc.
from time to time to enquire into the conditions or for
perspective planning pertaining to Water and Waste Water
Engineering Systems

d)
To study and deal with all problems pertaining to procurement
and distribution of adequate supplies of water of appropriate
quality and collection, treatment and safe disposal of waste
water.

|
e)
To promote understanding and relationship with the people
including actively participating in planning, execution,
financing, operating and maintaining water supply and waste
water disposal systems for the benefit of the people.

f)
To increase knowledge of the science and practice of water and
wastewater
|
|
g)
To encourage professional excellence by awarding prizes,
granting scholarships sponsoring research projects and study
tours and technical tours.
|
|
h)
To provide opportunities for interaction among members of the
profession and others interested in the field and to render
facilities for presenting papers on various aspects of Water and
Waste Water Sector and delivery of lectures.
|
|
i)
To suggest and draft necessary legislation for better management
in Water and Waste Water Systems and further to advise for
strict enforcement of the various provisions of the proposed
legislature enactment on the subject.

j)
And in general, to do all things, deeds and things as are
incidental to or conductive to the attainment of the above
objects. PROVIDED that the Association shall not support with
its funds and/or endeavour to impose on or procure to be
observed by its members or others any regulations or
restrictions which would make it a trade union. |
