Part III - General

The Council shall have the right to limit the number of members, as the Council in their absolute discretion deem proper.

Part  IV - Membership

The members of the Association shall be divided into the following classes viz;

i) Fellow
ii) Life Member
iii) Organisation Member
iv) Associate Member
v) Student Member
vi) Honorary Member

 N. B. : The Members, Fellows and Organisation members who have already paid their annual subscription fee for the next year will continue till 31-03-2004.

6. i) For a person to be admitted as a Fellow Member, the following shall be satisfied:

  a) Age - 40 years and above
  b) Educational Qualifications: University Graduation or equivalent in any discipline.
  c) Experience and Status: Minimum experience of 15 years in Water and/or Waste Water field; out of which  
      he must have held a position of high responsibility in the field for at least 10 years.

Exception : It is possible that a person may not fulfill one or more of the above requirements but may still have done some outstanding and recognizable work in the field of Water and Waste Water Sector. In such a case, the Council may give due consideration to his exceptional achievements, and confer Fellowship on him as a special case. In such a case, it will be subject to approval of the Council of Management, 75% of the members present giving their approval

 ii) For a person to be admitted as a Member, the following shall be satisfied :

  a) Age - 18 years and above
  b) Educational Qualification- Degree or Diploma in any discipline
  c) Experience - He shall be connected with water and waste water systems and/or practice.

 iii) Any person whose knowledge and accomplishments in the field of Water and Waste Water Sectors are so widely known to entitle him for special recognition may at the instance of the Council, and if he is agreeable to be elected as an Honorary Member of the Association. Such an Honorary Member will be exempted from payment of any fees. This will be subject to approval of Council of Management with at least 75% members present approving.

 iv) Any Organisation connected with Water and Waste Water Sectors in terms of design, planning, construction, operation maintenance, finance, manufacture and supply of material and equipments, consultancy, administration and other related activities shall be eligible to become Organisation Member

 v) Any person who does not satisfy the criteria mentioned for Fellows/Members above but has a recognizable interest in the objects of Association shall be eligible to become Associate Member of the Association.

vi) Any person reading for a Degree or Diploma in any branch of engineering or science in India shall be qualified to become a Student Member of the Association. Student Membership shall be available to him so  long as he continues to be a student subject to his submitting to the Association from time to time, a certificate to that effect from the Head of his Institution where he is a student. This stipulation shall be satisfied at  the time of admission as well as at the payment of subsequent yearly subscription.
