World Environment Day Celebration 2026
The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Centre of the Indian Water Works Association (IWWA), in association with the IWWA Mumbai Centre and Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (MITCSN), celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 at the MITCSN Campus. The programme was graced by Er. Manisha Palande, President, IWWA, and Dr. Munish Sharma, Director General, MITCSN, along with IWWA members, faculty members, students, and environmental enthusiasts. A special expert lecture on the theme “Nature for Climate for Our Future” was delivered by Dr. Nitin Mukadam. The session highlighted the importance of nature-based solutions for climate change mitigation, sustainable development, environmental conservation, biodiversity protection, and water resource management. The lecture was followed by an interactive discussion that encouraged participants to share ideas and perspectives on environmental responsibility and climate action. The programme also included the distribution of environmental awareness material and meaningful interactions among students, faculty members, and IWWA members. Approximately 40–50 participants attended the event and expressed their commitment to promoting sustainable environmental practices and building a greener future. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to support environmental stewardship through individual and community initiatives.
