Proceedings of the Annual General Meeting – Meerut Centre (July 03, 2025)
Meerut Centre conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on July 03, 2025 (Thursday) in the Conference Hall of U.P. Jal Nigam (Rural), Meerut, which was attended by 22 of our members. In this AGM, we unanimously adopted our Audited Accounts and Annual Report for the Financial Year 2024-25 and decided to appoint the Auditor for the Financial Year 2025-26, along with some other agenda items.
Participation of members of Meerut Centre in cleanliness drive
Meerut Centre is feeling immense pleasure in sharing that some of our members, on June 29, 2025, participated in a Cleanliness Drive (Swachhta Abhiyan) at Chhath Ghat, located on the right bank of the Hindon River in Ghaziabad, jointly with the volunteers of Youth Network, a non-governmental organization (NGO).
Celebration of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2025
IWWA-Meerut Centre organized the World Environment Day celebration program on June 5, 2025, at the Conference Hall, 245 MLD Water Treatment Plant, Siddharth Vihar, Ghaziabad. On this occasion, Er. Rakesh Kumar Tyagi, Former Chief Engineer of UP Pollution Control Board, was the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. Many working and retired engineers from U P Jal Nigam also shared their experiences and views on the theme, 'Ending Plastic Pollution,' as well as on various water-related issues. Around 22 IWWA members and guests participated in the event. Er. Sarvesh Kumar, Vice Chairman of IWWA-Meerut Centre, presided over the function. All the presentations were very interesting, informative, and interactive, and were enjoyed and appreciated by all the participants. Technical Field Visit to Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant and Ganga Jal Project Head Works Site
It gives us great pleasure to inform you that IWWA-Meerut Centre organized a field visit program on April 28, 2025, for IWWA members to the Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Delhi—operated by the Delhi Jal Board—and to the head works site of the 200 and 270 cusecs Ganga Jal Projects, operated by the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban). Er. Aniruddh Dubey, Executive Engineer, Sonia Vihar, Delhi Jal Board, gave a detailed presentation (PPT) on Delhi's water supply system and the 635 MLD capacity Sonia Vihar Water Treatment Plant, and assisted us during the site/campus tour. Er. Umesh Shukla, Executive Engineer, Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Urban), Ghaziabad, coordinated the entire program and extended support in making our visit to the Ganga Jal Project head works site successful. Approximately 15 IWWA members participated in these site visits.
Celebration of World Water Day on 22nd March, 2025
IWWA-Meerut Centre is pleased to inform that we organized a 'World Water Day' celebration on March 22, 2025, at the Meeting Hall, Golden Spoon, Boundary Road, Meerut. On this occasion, Dr. Surendra Kumar Mishra, Professor, Water Resources Department, IIT Roorkee, was the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. Dr. Mukesh Ruhela, Professor & Head, Environmental Engineering Department, Subharti University, Meerut, and Er. Sanjay Burman, Chief Engineer, UPJN (Rural), Meerut, were the Guests of Honour at the event. Several working and retired engineers from Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam also shared their experiences and views on 'Glacier Preservation' and various water-related issues. Around 43 IWWA members and guests attended the event, which was followed by a dinner.

Celebration of World Environment Day on 5th June, 2024
IWWA-Meerut Centre celebrated World Environment Day on June 05,2024. In the Session-1, Centre organised the Tree Plantation Program in campus of 245 MLD Water Treatment Plant, Gangajal Project Campus, Ghaziabad. In the Session-2, celebration program was conducted in the Conference Room, in which Er.K.M.Yadava, Superintending Engineer (Retd.) & Guest of Honour presented Key Note Address on the topic ' Reuse of Secondary Treated Effluent in the form of Industrial Grade Water '. Many other members also expressed their views on various environmental related issues and their solutions.

Technical Lecture Meeting on 2nd Mar, 2024
Meerut Centre organised a Technical Lecture Meeting on March 01,2024(yesterday) at Ghaziabad. The lecture was delivered/ presented by Er.Sarvesh Kumar, (Retd.) Chief Engineer,U.P.Jal Nigam & LF-IWWA, on the topic - "Changes/ Modifications In Manual Of Water Supply And Treatment System (Drink From Tap)-Part A". Around 40 members and other engineers participated in this Lecture Meeting.
Lecture meeting and site visit on 09th Dec, 2023
IWWA-Meerut Centre organised a Lecture meeting & field/site visit of the ongoing implementation of India's first R.R.T.S.Project , from Delhi (Sarai Kale Khan) to Meerut, being executed by NCRTC, on December 09,2023. Er.Rohit Tyagi, Executive Engineer, NCRTC delivered the lecture and his presentation covering this prestigious project and explained all the relevant details during the site visit of under construction Anand Vihar Station of this project. A total of 20+ members of IWWA and guests actively participated and enjoyed the program. After the site visit, We all travelled from Sahibabad to Duhai Depot and back to Sahibabad Station, around 17 Km. long priority section of this project, which has been made operational and commissioned by NCRTC.

Celebration of Engineers' Day on 15th Sep, 2023
IWWA -Meerut Centre,in association with IWE (India), celebrated Engineers Day at Hotel Blu Stone, Kaushambi, Ghaziabad. Er.Shailendra Sharma, Former D.G.,CPWD was the Chief Guest & Key Note Speaker on the occasion and Dr.Kuldeep Malik,Prof.,ITS E C, Greater Noida & Mr.Rajesh Mathpal, Project Director,SUEJ International were Guests of Honour. Around 35 members and Guests participated in the program.
Annual General Meeting of Meerut Centre and tree plantation Day on 19th July, 2023
Around 26 members attended and actively participated in the AGM. After the meeting, a tree plantation program was conducted, in which around 250 saplings of various types of trees were planted in U.P.Jal Nigam Campus.
